Sarah Raful Whinston, Executive Director

Sarah is thrilled to be the Executive Director of Camp Poyntelle Lewis Village. She fell in love with Jewish camping at the age of 11 and has spent much of her life learning about informal Jewish education, including spending time at three different camps. Most recently, she was the Associate Director of Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps in Malibu, CA. She is an Alumna of the dual Masters program from USC with a Masters in Public Administration and from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion with a Masters in Jewish Communal Service.  Sarah is originally from Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. Sarah and her husband, Rabbi Josh Whinston, are excited to make their new home the state of New York and CPLV!

Matt Dorter, Director, Lewis Village

Matt joined the Poyntelle family in the summer of 1989 as a Junior Boys One camper.  After graduating New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with studies in both Theater and Education, Matt took a few years away from camp to direct a children's theater in downtown Manhattan.  Matt is thrilled to have  rejoined his summer family in this full time position where he finds immense reward in helping provide children with a deeper love of Judaism and the spirit of camping.  Matt heads up the Lewis Village side of camp.
