Sarah Raful Whinston, Executive Director

Sarah is thrilled to be the Executive Director of Camp Poyntelle Lewis Village. She fell in love with Jewish camping at the age of 11 and has spent much of her life learning about informal Jewish education, including spending time at three different camps. Most recently, she was the Associate Director of Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps in Malibu, CA. She is an Alumna of the dual Masters program from USC with a Masters in Public Administration and from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion with a Masters in Jewish Communal Service.  Sarah is originally from Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. Sarah and her husband, Rabbi Josh Whinston, are excited to make their new home the state of New York and CPLV!

Mallory Saks, Assistant Director

Mallory Saks has been working passionately in Jewish Camping for over 10 years.  After a high school internship with the Camp Director at the JCC of Central NJ she knew that she found her career path.  On the road to fulfilling her dream she attended Indiana University with a semester abroad at Tel Aviv University. Following graduation from IU, Mallory worked with great enthusiasm at the JCC of Central NJ as the Youth and Teen Services Director and Associate Camp Director of Programming and Staff Development for the last 3 years.  Mallory is also a current JCCA Merrin Teen Professional Fellow.  Although less than 5 feet tall, Mallory is long on personality, enthusiasm and creativity! She is so excited to become part of the dynamic CPLV leadership team!

Michael Latner, Program Director

Michael began attending Jewish Summer camp in 1999. The wonderful experiences he had as a camper inspired him to return as a staff member and provide fun and life-changing experiences for others. Michael is proud to be part of the CPLV team where he can use his experience to push ideas for camp programming to their maximum potential, creating a camping experience that at once entertains and positively influences the lives of the children and staff at CPLV.
