Your fee covers all the costs of camp including transportation to/from camp, baggage transport, trips, laundry, and canteen. The only additional costs you may incur is if your child chooses to participate in horseback riding or golf..

We provide luxury coach buses at four convenient locations to bring your child to/from camp. The locations include spots on Long Island, Manhattan, Westchester, and New Jersey.

We offer a supportive Jewish environment in which our campers can thrive. Friday evening services are interactive and led by the campers. Hebrew songs can be heard throughout the grounds. Whether it's our intimate Kabbalat Shabbat in the Pavilion, our beautiful Shabbat Spot overlooking the lake, or our rocking Ha Motzi before each meal, we strive to accommodate families from diverse Jewish backgrounds.

YES! Your child gets two pre-arranged phone calls if they attend for one session and three calls if they attend for the entire summer. They also have the opportunity to make phone calls when they leave camp on trips. We do ask that you provide your child with a calling card to make it easier and cheaper for your child to get in touch with you.

Every child lives in a cabin with 10 -13 campers and 3 - 4 staff members. Our counselors and specialists all go through an intensive week-long training seminar prior to camp. The counselor selection process is competitive, and all counselors must submit an application with references and have an in-depth interview and background check. Our counselors range in age from entering 12th grade (Counselor Assistant) to college graduates. Many of our staff members are former campers who come to us with a wealth of knowledge about the traditions of CPLV.

Each program area of camp is led by an excellent, well-trained specialist, many of whom work outside of camp in their specialty area, as professional Jewish educators, artists, sports coaches, or actors. Our pool and lake staff are all American Red Cross certified lifeguards, and participate in a rigorous water safety training program at camp. Our ropes course and climbing tower staff are also appropriately trained and certified.

YES! We have arranged Bunk1.com to provide you the ability to send your child emails throughout the summer at a minimal cost. The emails will be delivered with the daily mail.

All of the bunks are very modern with bathrooms and showers in the bunks. Many of the bunks at Poyntelle have recently been renovated and the bunks at Lewis Village have all been built within the last few years. Campers will have plenty of storage space for their personal belongings.

YES! There is a visiting day in July for children who attend first session or full season and another visiting day in August for second session campers. This is the perfect opportunity for families to meet the staff and to participate in numerous activities provided at CPLV. Enjoy a swim in the lake, go boating or just shoot some hoops. We invite our families to feel at ease and bring their children some things that remind them of home, but please NO PETS.

YES! We do our very best to insure your child can spend their summer with their friends. You will have the opportunity to formally request who your child is bunked with.

YES! We post photos everyday of campers having fun at CPLV. We cannot guarantee that your child will be on everyday, but we do our best to make sure you see your child online consistently throughout the summer.

My child has a bar/bat mitzvah in the fall. Can they receive tutoring at CPLV?

YES! We are happy to provide your child with a certified cantor who will assist in making sure your child is prepared for their bar/bat mitzvah. This service should be requested prior to the summer.

My child will be at camp for his/her birthday. What does CPLV do to make it special?

Birthday celebrations at camp are great. Counselors go out of their way to make sure the day is special, and camp honors each camper with a cake for their celebration. You have the option of organizing a pizza party for your child and their bunkmates. If you are interested please make sure to contact the office in advance.

YES! We encourage you to send your child games, books, and whatever else they might need throughout the summer. Campers look forward to receiving packages from home so we encourage you to be creative with what you send your child. Please do not send any food items as they are not allowed in the bunks.

We do our best at CPLV to accommodate campers with special dietary needs or food allergies. Please contact us prior to camp if your child has serious food restrictions or allergies so we can prepare for their needs. We provide vegetarian options at every meal, and of course serve all kosher food.

Our infirmary is staffed 24-hours-a-day with registered nurses. A doctor is always either on-site or on call. We are within minutes of a complete network of health care providers. If your child is not feeling well at camp you can be confident that he or she will be receiving comforting, excellent, professional care and attention.

Your child has been in the infirmary for more than 24 hours, your child has been placed on prescription medication, or your child has been taken to an out-of-camp doctor, emergency room, or hospital.

Your child spends less than 24 hours in the infirmary, your child receives a routine diagnosis and treatment, which could include cuts, colds, bug bites, stomach aches, sore throats or headaches.

Obviously, we hope it never rains at camp. However, if mother nature does decide to provide us with some wet weather, we are always prepared. We have two indoor gyms, arts and crafts, as well as other indoor facilities we use to make sure that the fun never stops--rain or shine.
