Our 11th graders culminate their camp experience as LITs. Traditionally, at Poyntelle, this is the pinnacle of the camper experience and each second at camp is an opportunity to capture a special moment and create an everlasting memory. This program is designed to bridge the gap between camper and counselor, serving as a tool to begin to prepare them to work at camp the following summer. We accomplish this through multiple opportunities such as leading Shabbat services, community service initiatives and tackling leading many elements of our Jewish Life and Mitzvah Madness projects. Success as an LIT is all about being a positive role model, learning new things and preparing yourself for the world ahead. At Poyntelle, we prepare our young adults for the road, not the road for them. There are expectations and they work hard to achieve and excel all summer. All the while, going on special trips, leading events and forming unforgettable bonds with each other and their staff. LITs spend 3 weeks on the trip of a lifetime in Israel!
