Hey everyone! My name is Zach, and this year I am excited to introduce myself as the Social Media Director for the summer of 2019! This will be my 12th summer in Poyntelle, and my 5th summer working in the Social Media department, being videographer for the past four years. Before that, I was a camper, beginning as a Junior Boy in 2008, and ending as an LIT in 2014. The social media team and I are excited to break down our plans for the year, and for the summer of 2019.
As you might have noticed, we’ve already started to post extensively on our social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram). We think that camp is special, and by staying engaged throughout the school year we can share those special memories again and again with our camp family! Mondays are typically our Countdown to Camp day. Mondays are usually pretty tough, getting back into the swing of things after the weekend, so we thought it would be fun to hype everyone up by making it our special day to countdown the days until opening campfire 2019! We look back at special events and activities that our campers love, and we share them with the community. Thursday is our designated day to throwback and post about the fundamental camp activities that make up a normal day, such as boating, basketball, and outdoor adventure! Finally, on Saturday we try to incorporate unique camp activities that put a smile on everyone’s face.
As we get closer to summer, we expect the excitement level to be at an all time high! As the process of getting camp summer ready gets underway, we will keep everyone at home updated until busses role in. From that point on, as a parent, or family member of a camper, you can expect daily Social Media posts, as well as daily photo uploads from our dedicated team of photographers. You can also expect videos, Facebook live streams, and much more! We plan to exceed our successful program from 2018, building on the already strong bonds of the team, and opening your window into your camper’s world for 7 weeks even further.
