Nature at Camp

Briana Kerekes and Dahlia Lipson from Junior Girls made a photo journal using pictures that they took around camp to reflect on the importance of nature and how camp helps people to appreciate it…

At Camp Poyntelle, we generally like nature a lot – I mean, we live in and are surrounded by it! Examples of nature 🌿 here at CP are that we like to go green by picking up trash on the ground. If you see something on floor, you are encouraged to put it in the garbage, which shows independence and care for the environment. We also have this place called the Nature Spot where you can find salamanders🦎.

We like to eat a lot of healthy food🥑🍎🍌🍍🍓. Plus, we exercise to stay fit 🏋🏻‍♂️ – doing outdoor activities like OA, tennis and basketball, among other things.

At camp,we do have not a lot of technology so if you are at home, take a lesson from us: if you have tech near you, put it down and go outside  🏞 . Go, sit out there and relax 🛀🏻 and enjoy  NATURE 🌅 !!!!! We learn how to manage without technology here so when we’re not doing activities, if we do get bored we can do things outside like play tetherball or Gaga. It also has a lasting impact on our lives, especially because we appreciate doing things outside that we don’t always make time for back at home.
