The Changes to Camp Poyntelle

Devin Silberman, Ally Kanner and Eden Garrett, as returning campers, give us an update on the changes that have occurred to Camp Poyntelle over the course of 2018-19 and what their thoughts are about what is new…

There are many interesting and new things to look forward to at Camp Poyntelle! One new and very large example is having all campers on Camp Poyntelle, instead of Camp Poyntelle Lewis Village. With this, many new bunks were built. Lewis Village still has separation, such as certain meal times and line ups at different flag poles. But, with this new change our entire camp family is even closer together. We feel this change has greatly and positively affected our summer home for ourselves, as well as many other campers attending Camp Poyntelle.

You can also look forward to the new waterfront at Camp Poyntelle. The waterfront has changed a lot over the years that we have been at camp but this year, there is a brand new water-park that has many different types of fun obstacles. Everything is connected to each other, going from one obstacle to the next. These include a trampoline, a swing, a big slide, a jungle gym, two spider jungle gyms, a rock-it, and a big blob trampoline. The waterfront is important at camp because we feel that everyone enjoys themselves there.

We would say that the new OA high ropes course is also definitely something to look forward to here at Camp Poyntelle. The course, again, has changed a lot over the years. It went from a rock wall and a Jacob’s ladder, to a big high ropes course, two new rock walls, and an awesome zip line. We love the zip line. The thrill of it is so much fun! It is something that every camper should try.
